Age limit for driver?

25 years. 

What do I  need to show on the day of rental?

1) valid driver’s license
2) copy/picture of your personal vehicle insurance (acts as primary insurance)
3) credit or debit card used to pay 

Are the UTVs enclosed?

Until 31Mar2024, yes. With the colder weather arrival, now we have added soft enclosures on the sides that can be rolled up for more opening. Please note that all units have front windshield and roof already. Please dress-up in warm clothing as the enclosures are not air-tight and there is also no enclosure at the rear windshield area and there is no dedicated heater inside the units.

Are the UTVs automatic? 

Yes. 

Do the UTVs have speaker?

Yes, they are equipped with Bluetooth speaker bar to make your ride further enjoyable

Are helmets required. 

No.

Can kids and pets ride?

Yes.

For kids, please take the booster or car seat out of your car and tighten it securely in the UTV, keep the doors/nets closed, and drive within safety speed limits, etc.. UTVs have the standard 3-point seat belt at every seat that can be passed through the car seat (i.e. they do not have those additional hooks near the bottom of the seat or top of the seat for children car seats to hook to) 

For pets, if the pet chews seat or litters, customers  will be responsible for damage. Please use your discretion and harness them as appropriate.  

What accessories are on the UTV?

How to download maps for offline use?

Cellular network is choppy in the mountains, so please turn on Auto-download and Auto-update option in Google Maps as follow: Open Google Maps > Click on Profile Picture > Offline Map > Gear button > Check Auto-download & Auto-update

Where do I park my personal vehicle?

We have plenty of parking spaces at the pick up location: Smokey’s Market, 3120 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, 37863

Where is the UTV pick-up and drop-off location?

If you selected Pigeon Forge: 3120 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, 37863

If you selected Gatlinburg: 315 East Parkway, Gatlinburg, 37738 (Timber Ridge Lodge Office)

Where can I ride the UTVs?

Please see the following page where our customers’ most liked motor trails are listed: ‘Where to Ride‘. Please note off-roading is not permitted, and the trails are public paved place

Can I take the UTVs off-roading?

No, for safety of the customers and integrity of the UTVs, off-roading is not allowed. There are a number of tranquil and breathtaking motor trails that are popular among our customers. You can learn more about them on our ‘Where to Ride’ page. 

What happens if I return the vehicle muddy?

In case the vehicle is returned muddy due to off-roading, you will be charged a $250 cleaning fee.   

What if  I return the vehicle late?

If you are running late, just call us and we will work with you. Extensions are charged at standard rate but you must call us to check vehicle availability. 

What if I return the vehicle early? 

Like other rental companies, there is no refund for early returns as the availability is already blocked for you and potential customers couldn’t have booked at that time.

Do I need to top up the gas?

Yes. Prior to returning, the vehicle must be filled with gas

How does insurance work in event of damage, injury, etc?

We have have zero insurance claims to date, but if there are any claims, it would have to go through your insurance company primarily. The umbrella insurance we have acts as the secondary insurance with minimal coverage required by state. We are trying to run a friendly and ethical business, so we will not charge you unnecessarily. However, if the rented unit is damaged, appropriate amount will be charged while we await the insurance process. 

Will my car insurance cover any damage to vehicles, properties, or personnel?

Every policy differs so please kindly contact your car insurance to inquire and ensure your policy has sufficient coverage. Please use the rented vehicle in a safe manner and as per local guidelines to minimize chances of any damage to self, accompanying passengers, or anything/anyone else. 

What is your cancellation policy?

We have one of the most generous cancellation policy with customers receiving a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation (by email only at americanutvrentals@gmail.com). If the cancellation notice is after the 24 hour cancellation window, we will reschedule you or provide you a credit for future use. Customers will also receive a full refund or credit in case of cancellation by American UTV Rentals due to unforeseen circumstances. No-shows will be charged the full price without any refund. 

Is there a deposit?

We do not collect deposit, but depending on local circumstances at the time of rental (e.g. there has been recent thefts that affect small businesses like us), we may require to put a hold of certain amount (e.g. up to $500) on your credit/debit card or put cash deposit until you return the vehicle. Your card will not get charged unless there is any incident that you are responsible for.
